Oasis Explorers is a technical training facility located at Bunaken Oasis Dive Resort & Spa in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. While Oasis Explorers is part of the Dive Centre and reports to the Dive Centre Manager, it is a distinctly separate operation with its own social media presence, targets, equipment etc.
We are looking for an experienced instructor couple, at least one of whom is a technical trimix instructor, to head up Oasis Explorers and continue the drive to establish Bunaken as a go-to destination for both technical diving and technical diving training. (Please note: suitable single candidates may be considered.)
Bunaken Oasis is a luxury 5* resort which provides exceptional levels of service, so candidates must be comfortable with the needs of demanding guests with high expectations.
Specific candidate requirements
Technical Trimix instructor (ability to cross over to PADI/TDI)
CCR/Technical CCR instructor (4x Poseidon MkVII – Mod3)
Technical Sidemount and DPV instructor (2x Bonex Eco S)
Certified tank and regulator servicer
Booster pump operator/technician
Gas Blender instructor
Fluent in English, with additional languages (ideally German) an advantage
In addition, preference may be given to candidates who are Freediver instructors and have UW photography and videography skills.
General candidate requirements
Enthusiastic, flexible, and guest-focused
Team oriented – this is especially important as you will be expected to play an active role, when required, in teaching and guiding recreational divers under the direction of the Dive Centre Manager
Sales oriented – upselling technical courses, DPV courses, CCR try-outs etc are essential to the growth of Oasis Explorers, so you will be confident socialising with guests in the bar and restaurant
Drive and enthusiasm – Oasis Explorers is still relatively new so you will need to promote the operation across social media platforms, dive organisations and clubs, marine research bodies etc
Planning and organising – you will be solely responsible for all equipment and consumables in Oasis Explorers
A sense of humour (because things go wrong, and sometimes the unexpected happens) • Discreet tattoos and piercings are acceptable, ideally mostly covered by t-shirt and shorts
We offer
An attractive salary, and commission on courses
A twelve-month renewable contract
KITAS work permit
Return flight to home country
Accommodation in an individual unit (living room, bedroom and bathroom), and meals
Ideally, candidates will have experience of working both in Indonesia and in a relatively remote island location.
Closing date for applications is 18th November 2022.
Interested candidates should send a covering letter together with your CV, a recent photo, references, WhatsApp contact, and available starting date to simon.wallace@bunakenoasis.com
